Welcome to the Cornelia PTO!
The Cornelia Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) welcomes the involvement of all parents and caregivers! Check out our PTO Calendar for a list of PTO-planed and sponsored activities. Visit the About Us page to learn more about how you can be involved with the PTO. Sign up to help in our school on the Volunteer page. We look forward to a wonderful year of support and communication for teachers, staff, parents and students of Cornelia Elementary.
Chalk the Walk for Teacher Appreciation Week
Sunday, May 3 | 3-4 p.m.
Bring your family to help us write thank you messages and drawings on the sidewalk around Cornelia to greet our teachers and staff when they arrive on Monday for Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8). Chalk will be provided. Please note, this is not a drop off event. Questions? Reach out to askcornelia@gmail.com
Walk, Bike & Roll to School
Wednesday, May 6
Be a part of the National Bike & Roll to School Day, an annual event that encourages students to walk, bike, or roll to school. Join others in walking or rolling to school as we celebrate the joys of building an active community, safety and school spirit!
Spring Fest
Friday, May 8 | 6-8 p.m.
Let's celebrate spring, Cornelia and our community. Bounce houses, DJ, dancing, crazy hair, pizza for purchase, friend and fun! What more can you ask for? Volunteers are still needed to help run a fun and safe event! Good opportunity for teens to get volunteer hours.
May 8 also happens to be Be a Hornet Day. A community-wide opportunity to show your pride and support the hive. Students, teachers, parents, alumni, friends, and fans are encouraged to wear and share photos/videos in your Edina green or Hornet gear, throwback pics of your time at EPS, or messages of support. Tag @edinaedfund and @edinapublicschools on Facebook or Instagram and use the hashtag #BeAHornetDay in your caption. Learn more.
May PTO Meeting
Tuesday, May 12
6:30-8 p.m. | Learning Commons
All parents/caregivers are welcome to attend the PTO meetings. We'd love to see you there!
Hornet Cares Fund and Immigration Resources
The Hornet Cares Fund can accept tax‑deductible financial contributions that support a wide range of needs for Edina Public Schools' families and staff experiencing temporary hardship — helping ensure stability, dignity, and continued access to school and community resources. Give here. If you need help, please reach out to a school social worker, cultural liaison, school administrator, or any school teacher. They are ready to support you and provide you with information. Visit Immigration Resources on the EPS website for more information.
BE CONNECTED AT CORNELIA
Stay in the know about events, programs, and opportunities at our school! It's free to create an account for full access to our volunteer opportunities, school store, and more. If you are a parent/guardian of a Cornelia student or you are a Cornelia staff member, you will also be given access to our online directory. If you have any questions, you can contact us at askcorneliapto@gmail.com. Follow us on Facebook and/or Instagram.
YOUR DONATION SUPPORTS OUR SCHOOL
A $25 (suggested) contribution per family goes a long way towards providing the Cornelia PTO with funds we use throughout the year for things like teacher grants, teacher appreciation, and PTO activities and events. However, no financial contribution is required to join the PTO or participate in PTO-sponsored activities. We want all Cornelia families to participate in our school in whatever way they are able.
